FELLOWSHIP IN GENRAL DENTISTRY (FGD)

The Fellowship in General Dentistry is designed for dental professionals who wish to:

• Enhance their clinical skills
• Expand their knowledge
• Gain confidence in delivering comprehensive dental care
• Bridge the gap between academic learning and practical expertise
• Handle a wide spectrum of dental procedures with precision and efficiency

Program Highlights

• Comprehensive coverage of diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient management
• Hands-on training in restorative dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and minor oral surgery
• 45-day clinical program
• Timings: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Sunday holiday)

Training Flow

• 2–3 days of theoretical concepts by expert faculty
• Hands-on practice on extracted teeth (minimum 5–10)
• Progression to patient cases after initial practice
• Focus on diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient communication
• Case selection and protocols training

Endodontic Training

• Access opening and canal location using simple methods
• Biomechanical preparation (shaping & cleaning) with various techniques
• Obturation techniques
• Root canal treatment of anteriors, premolars, and molars
• Conventional, Hand Protaper, Rotary, Single-file, and Single-visit RCT
• Root canal medicaments (properties and indications)
• Treatment of endodontic emergencies (flare-ups, incision & drainage, acute abscess)

Clinical Skills

• Atraumatic extractions on patients
• Crown preparations on extracted teeth before moving to patients
• Use of elastomeric impression materials for fine-detail recording
• Work on patients for most procedures (based on posting duration & case availability)

Eligibility Requirement

• Permanent State Dental Council registration certificate is mandatory
